KYBELLA® is a prescription medicine used or adults to improve the appearance and profile of moderate to severe fat below the chin (submental fat or submental fullness), also called “double chin.” Kybella can also work on bra bulge fat (Brabella), thigh fat (Thighbella) and even the stubborn fat under your bum (Bananabella).
KYBELLA® is a prescription medicine used at our Marigold Spa office, a premier medical spa in Downingtown, PA for adults to improve the appearance and profile of moderate to severe fat below the chin (submental fat or submental fullness), also called “double chin.” Kybella can also work on bra bulge fat (Brabella), thigh fat (Thighbella) and even the stubborn fat under your bum (Bananabella). It can be something you’ve had your whole life due to genetics, or start to appear as you get older or if you gain weight.
How does Kybella work?
The active ingredient in KYBELLA® is synthetic deoxycholic acid. Deoxycholic acid is a naturally occurring molecule in the body that aids in the breakdown and absorption of dietary fat. When injected into the fat in the desired area, KYBELLA® destroys fat cells, and once destroyed, these cells can no longer store or accumulate fat. This results in a noticeable reduction in fullness in the target area whether it's under the chin, or in another treated area.
How many treatments do I need?
Since everyone’s chin profile or area of the body is different, the number of treatments varies from patient to patient. Our Aesthetic Injectors at The Marigold Spa will help determine how many treatment sessions you need based on the amount and distribution of your submental fat and your personal treatment goals. Each KYBELLA® treatment session is given at least 1 month apart, and you should not receive more than 6 treatments. In clinical studies, 59% of patients received 6 treatments total.
